The
famous and eccentric orator Sheridan Whiteside has been invited to dine
with the Stanley family at their home in a small Ohio town. But a fall
on the ice outside the house changes the plans in a hilarious way. Whiteside,
unable to be moved because of his injury, proceeds to take over the
Stanleys ’ house. But Whiteside faces a little uproar in his own
life when his tireless and efficient secretary, Maggie Cutler, falls
for the local newspaper editor, Bert Jefferson. Will Whiteside’s
crafty wit enable him to regain control of his world? And who ordered
the penguins?
