Set in 1905 in Tsarist Russia, the tale of a poor milkman and his family struggling to come to terms with the changing traditions of a new world has inspired generations. Tevya and his wife Golde want to provide security and happiness for their children, but as their oldest daughters Tzeitel, Hodel and Chava seek to carve out futures for themselves in a new century full of challenges and new traditions, these wise parents must search for a way to remain a family even as the old ways change. Full of well-loved songs such as “Tradition,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” “If I Were a Rich Man” and “Sunrise, Sunset,” Fiddler On The Roof is a story of enduring love and the triumph of the spirit.
